Portable Software

Dear Major Geeks owners/admin and fans .

A while back ya'll put out a op/ed piece on the benefits of using a portable version (if available) of any installed program.
Tried it, loved the gains in my average available computer resources and REALLY love the idea of some of the hidden background things NOT running until that particular porty program is tapped in.
Not to mention I can just copy my PORTABLE Programs file ANYWHERE and run any/all the programs from the file, since I "install" the portable versions to (and keep the icons in a PORTY ICONs folder) all within the now self-sufficient, self-contained PORTABLE Programs file.

Would ya'll consider establishing and maintaining a new software category ...PORTABLE?
I've tried to assemble one for my own use (have found 182 porty versions & counting), but by no means is it complete or up to date with even your DB. If you folks had such a category, it'd be both (I'm a mite lazy & ya'll running a business).
I KNOW I'm not the only one that would appreciate it to easily update my key chain "Friends & Family Holiday Tool Kit USB drive".
And maybe some more folks will find the benefits of the full time use of portable versions, where available, just for the increased available resources and control.
