I have this XP machine, it had some pretty nasty viruses on it and I ran virus and maleware scans in safe mode twice to make sure everything was removed.

Booting back into Windows, everything appears to be back to normal. No more pop-ups or website redirects. I can surf the internet just fine except for when I try to go to Windows update. I get a page cannot be displayed error.

I've checked my Lan settings and it's set to auto-detect settings.

Is this a possible root-kit issue?

    thoughts??

Fixed the issue with a tool called "TDSSKiller" by Kaperskey
