Possible Indexing problem

Several days ago, I copied filed from a directory into another, and my system somehow managed to empty ALL of my 5000 image files into the "My Pictures" folder, with leaving the sub folders in place, but empty. No Idea how, or why.

Now I'm trying to sort that mess back into place, and windows is acting funny. When you move or delete a file it does not disappear, it ghosts where it was and the system tries to move it again when you move the next one, giving an error that file xyz cannot be found.

This, if you click "Skip" and check the all conflicts box, though annoying, does allow work to continue, but it will happen repeatedly.

It also will not display the file directory folders right away, it loads for quite some time, and doesn't "remember" so it goes through that same load every single time you click back to the main folder.

I tried running the Indexing repair service, a disk check, etc. Let Advance System care take a crack at it, but it all says "No problems detected" and it's really starting to irk me.

    Any Suggestions?

I video captured it, in case my description is not concise. http://youtu.be/Bciq0v07rRU

    Heh, the video is private.

You did a disk check, does that include:

    chkdsk /r (drive letter, etc...)

    chkdsk /r c:

What about my attachment? Is it set for indexing? If so, what if you were to uncheck, hit okay. Then recheck, hit okay.

The movie shows the behavior. It's just really frustrating, trying to put it all back together. Any ideas on how to fix it would be amazing.

Have you tried to exclude that folder from your antivirus program? Its just a thought, that while it is indexing that folder, the antivirus program is scanning each file, folder, and sub folder.
