    Possible infection?
AVG 8 and Zone Alarm find nothing suspicious.
I use Windows XP with SP3.
I have a file that is generated each time I switch on.
It appears in “Documents and Settings/My Name/Local Settings/Temp/”
It has different file names i.e. ~DFF.tmp, ~DF6DE0.tmp etc.
If I try to delete the latest version I get the message “Cannot delete ~DFF.tmp: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.”
    My question is:
How can I identify what program is using/generating this file? Thanks,
    Ingen

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

These are not problems. They are temp files in use by the Windows Operating System. Ones from the current day (from the last time you boot) are in use and cannot be removed. Older ones can be removed.
