Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit. Whenever I watch YouTube videos or do anything that involves Flash, Firefox freezes for ten seconds, and then prompts me to shut down Flash, which I do (it's the only thing that unfreezes the browser). Flash runs in Chrome, but sound doesn't work.

I've tried to troubleshoot the problem in various ways (uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox & Flash, removing Flash's protected mode, updating video drivers, switching to beta versions of Firefox & Flash), but nothing's really worked.

I've heard some people say the problem can be related to malware, so I'm checking here. I've attached scan logs (RogueKiller seems to have found some stuff, but I'm not sure what it is).

Thanks in advance and happy holidays!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You are not having malware problems. Your logs are clean. I suggest that you post in the Software Forum. One suggestion would be to make sure that you have not somehow managed to block FlashPlayer in your protection software ( including in your firewall ).

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you for checking my logs! I fixed my Flash problem with Advanced System Optimizer, which cleaned up some junk files and updated drivers.

I can now watch YouTube videos, although now there's a new problem of some pages loading funny and Gmail stalling out. But, this is way more manageable than the old problem.
