    Hi eveyone,
Recently I asked for assistance with some issues I was experiencing with my laptop. Thankfully I was informed that the logs I attached revealed no traces of malware. TimW - thanks again for your assistance.

As I mentioned in the first post, communicating through forums is brand new to me. So, I'd like to go ahead and apologize beforehand for any newbie mistakes I should make.

    CURRENT COMPUTER ISSUES:
Specs: HP Pavillion, 64-bit, Windows 7.

The desktop issues I'm having are minimal. The main problems are:
    1) A wavy browser window. To elaborate, the screen waves appear as soon as I begin scrolling up and/or down a web page.

    2) An extremely slow computer that freezes about 10-15 minutes after I begin using it.

    3) At the root of my C drive, I recently noticed 2 extremely large files named hiberfil.sys (11.8 GB) and pagefile.sys (15.7 GB). Is hiberfil.sys related to using the hibernate option within the shut down menu? What's strange is that I never use this option.

The diagnostic tools did report suspicious objects, which might turn out to be nothing - hopefully. Either way, I thought it would be best to have the experts to a look.

Any assistance that can be provided would be much appreciated.

Not seeing anything to do at all bar one minor fix:

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Which browser does the "wavy bar" occur in?

Awesome, the code was successfully added to the registry. Thank you!

The browser in question in Firefox 31.0. I'm going to restart my pc.

Well, the system booted up just fine. I'm going to play some videos on YouTube to see it freezes up. Not seeing any waves in Firefox yet. The large files are a mystery.

All I did was remove an astromenda registry key (junk) maybe it helped, or maybe something else happened to correct things. Let me know how you get on anyway. ;)

Both are hidden files and can only be seen if "Show hidden files and folders" has been selected in Folder Options.

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. It worked like a charm. The system is a lot faster and more stable. I can't believe one command can make that much of a difference.

    Thanks for your help :)

Excellent. Glad to hear all is well again. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
