    Hi All,
Thanks for looking at this. The problem is every few weeks one of my 2 yahoo accounts sends spam, even after I have changed the password. This never happens with my gmail account. I thought it was possibly me logged into a public wifi but now I'm thinking it's something on the computer. I have a powerful Lenovo X1 Carbon so the performance isn't being effected much. I have no pop ups and things seem to be running fine. Please help, people are getting very frustrated from all the spam they are getting from me.

    Thank you

In many cases, these kinds of issues are due to having your passwords stolen and hackers using your email accounts.

If you access your email account or anything else from public open networks like this, including computers in libraries, internet cafes, airports, boats (crusie lines ) hotels, a friends PC,....etc. Basically anywhere but from your PC and on your own home network, then you are susceptable to having information stolen since the security of all other computers and networks cannot be guaranteed. And public / free wifi networks are a very high cause of information being stolen. They are open networks.

If however you want to check your PC for any malware, please follow the instructions in the below link:

Thanks for the information. I don't believe its public wifi anymore because I just checked with Apple since I'm usually on my iphone and they said the possibility of getting hacked on the iphone is very limited.
I will try running the steps in the Malware Removal Guide. The computer seems fine though. Do you think it's better to show you all programs running from the task manager?
    Thanks

    You're welcome.
Not really because it is of very little use without the rest of the information that are malware removal process checks and logs. And this already had multiple detailed tasks list in it that are more useful than what you get in task manager. ;)

Note: Very limited does not equal not possible :) While I agree that it is a low probability that you were hacked via your phone if you are using your phone in normal operation which is connected thru the air wave to your service provider, but public wifi ( free ) networks are not secure and all data passing over them is easy to hack.

You PC is also a laptop. Where else have you eve used it other than your home network???
