    Hi,

    My OS is 32-bit Windows 7 with 4GB RAM and I have Kaspersky 2010 installed.

    The problems started with a tremendous slowness of my PC and various error messages from MS NET Framework when booting. The message was: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. [] The process cannot access the file: svchostbp.exe or svchost&something-OR-nothing.exe or e.exe" (I don't remember all of them). I'm attaching a screenshot.

    At some point (about 3-4 days later) Kaspersky recognize e.exe as a virus, but it couldn't not disinfect it. It says that threats have been detected and that I must restart my computer, but after rebooting the file seems to be quarantined AND at the same time I'm still getting the same message (threats detected - reboot).

    I've also noticed in Task Manager that svchost was running (and still is) 11-13 times.

    I went through all steps of "READ & RUN". During this process I had the following issues:

    • "Empty ALL Quarantine type folders for antivirus apps": I did the deletion, but since Kaspersky in every reboot sends e.exe to quarantine and during the process I reboot my PC a few times, it was a never-ending cycle. I wasn't sure if I had to follow the same process after each reboot, so I didn't :confused
    • COMPOFIX: After the CompoFix scanning, I couldn't print!!! Due to my insecureness when dealing with such issues, I was printing the directions of each scanning-cleaning process by copy-paste the text to MSWord. So, following the CF scan, I tried to print, the print dialogue-box poped-up, the printer icon appeared in system tray and that's all - no printings! By hovering the mouse over the print icon, I'm getting the message that "0 document(s) pending". The printer is working fine (I've tested with my laptop).
    • ROOTREPEAL: The application failed to run. I'm attaching the error log file and a screenshot.

    I hope that I'm not forgetting something, since it's been almost 12 hours that I'm trying to reach at THIS point! :) Also hope that I made my self clear enough, cause it's been really many-many years since I wrote my last essay in English :)

    Thanks in advance!

    I am not seeing any malware in your logs. But let's get your printer working again.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    DEQUARANTINE::
    C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86\cnmpp9~1.vir
    Quit::

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Tell me if your printer is now working. Also tell me what malware issues you are still having, if any.

    Hallo Tim & thank you for your time and your help,

    My printer worked just fine, and so did my pc. As I said, Kaspersky was recognizing an infection (e.exe) which could handle it for some, but know everything seems OK. I really don't know if there was something else in my pc except that and I'd appreciate if you could tell me.

    Is Kaspersky still finding things? As I said, from what I could see, your logs were clean. Tell me what malware issues you may still be having, if any.
