I'd say my computer freezes during startup(after I login) about 1 outta 10 times.

It's happend for months now. I've been trying to think when it started and two things that I can think of are when I installed a legit copy of Windows and when I installed my DVD burner.

I totally forgot about the Event Viewer. So after the last freeze up I went to the Event Viewer noticed this error at the time my computer froze up:

The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.

Not sure what that means. I assume somthing maybe like my DVD burner.

I always thought it might be hardware related b/c I can hear a sound in my computer right before it freezes.

Anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?

    Thanks :)

I just googled it(which I should have done first).

    Seems like its usually a
cabling, an IDE controller or bad hardware issue.

Guess I'll have to open the box.
