    hello there! i am new here and i have some problems with my computer
    i did a google search and it seems like this forum may be of great assistance

    im not sure what is happening
    but whenever i put in a usb or any other external hard drive, my folders will show that it only takes up 105 KB of space
    which in reality takes up significantly more
    this started happening two days ago when a friend returned a usb of mine

    some of the malware that were detected were from these fake search engine websites like claro and babylon
    both of which downloaded by itself in the background without my consent and occurred in different periods within this past year
    i thought i had deleted it following some instructions i picked up from the internet, but i guess the malware programs still detected it

    i did the logs that the forum has asked for
    some logs detected something, while others did not

    thank you for your time and patience and i hope to hear from you guys shortly

    I am not finding much in the way of malware.

    What is this:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Registry Entries : 8 ¤¤¤
    [RUN][HJNAME] HKCU\[...]\Run : svchost (C:\Users\fred\Documents\Important\svchost.exe [-]) -> FOUND
    [RUN][HJNAME] HKLM\[...]\Run : svchost (C:\Users\fred\Documents\Important\svchost.exe [-]) -> FOUND
    Rerun RogueKiller and remove those items. ( MBAM finds it foul.)

    Also rerun Hitman and have it remove the one item it found and then remove all the PUPs/.

    Reboot and rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach the logs.

    Your logs are clean. I suggest you post in the software forum for further assistance.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
