Hello, I would like to know if it is possible for a maleware, virus, or trojan to infect a file on a video game disc? I have a game called Warcraft III and recently out of nowhere my AVG detected a trojan on the warcraft III.exe file and after doing full AVG and maleware byte scans and reinstalling the game the same problem persists. In question i tried installing the game on a different brand new computer and the AVG anti virus detected the same exact thing. I am not able to play my WCIII game on either of my computers. Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated.

If this helps any the AVG resident shield detection reveals Trojan Horse Generic 16.LYU and .LYL on file C:\program files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe and a link on C:\system volume information\ which was found when i did a scan on maleware bytes anti maleware scan. Im not sure wether its internet related, pc related, or disc related.

If this helps any the infection that is noted on the file c:\program files\warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe is identified as a Trojan Horse Generic 16.LYU and .LYL. I need to know if this is a internet related, disc related, or computer related problem.

    Welcome to MajorGeeks, Shimori

A web search shows that it is a False Positive detection from AVG.

To be sure - Please go to this online scanner, choose "browse" and navigate to: C:\program files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe > choose "open" once you've located Warcraft III.exe then hit the "Submit file" button.

*If the results confirms that it is a FP - try following the below:
