Post Secondary Schools

My daughter is going to be Senior in the up coming school year. She will be going to a post-secondary school near us instead for her senior year.
Today in the mail we received a form for financial assistance from
Educational Assistance Council. I told her go ahead, fill it out, can't hurt, but then she got to the part where they want us to pay in order for them to get her money?

Does anyone know if this is a legit thing? I tried a google and it comes up, but when I click on links, I get no page.
Not sure I should be paying someone to find her assistance?

I did find a forum discussion, asking same thing. The agree financial assistance can be found without paying.

 

If it is legit, its damn stupid.

If in doubt, throw it out

 

I would think that if the school is expensive...they should have an office strictly devoted to financial assistance!! Just like you would find at a college or higher learning institute!!

As to your original question, always be suspicious of people who want your money if you didn't solicit them in the first place.

It's that time of year Gal, where they mailshot anyone who might have someone in their home receiving full-time education. We got one today for our son offering us $35,000. I said to my hubby "Sell him"

I agree with goldie......if you want financial assistance, search the market and make your choice. If it comes to your door and you haven't asked for it...throw it out.
