here you go; my not-so-tidy desk, with my 15" monitor (my 19" tft is on the way.)

 

Fleppin, what is Dubbey Frisss?

 

This one is from a while ago, pre CD-RW drive, but other than that and the addition of an AFL-CIO mug full of pens on top of the tower in the place of the CDs, I'm sitting in exactly the same setup.

 

It's "Dubbel Frisss" which is a dutch/european drink similar to orange juice, only with lemon and raisin juice, tastes pretty good. Only reason there's so many packs of it on my room is that my dad conveniently forgot to buy Coke.

no cam to take a pic with, but i can tell you whats ON it....

lets see- two model cars, and temp & humidity monitor, motrin, ashtray, cigs, bottled water, roll of toilet paper, various batteries, cell phone, cd's scissors, various waxes and car polish "stuff" epoxy, laser light pen, oil candles, pics of rachel on top of monitor, bucket of hair do dads, can of butane, brush, several cd cases of varying sizes, glue and citrus cleaner. oh- and nail polish and lipstick. and a fork.....

actually, its not as messy as it USUALLY is...lmao!

 

Combination garage, bathroom and computer room? Bazza

I have a proview 17in monitor. Canon i860 printer. Logitech 5.1 surround sound. many of my toys and some stuff just collecting dust.

Sounds like mine! I have a huge desk and about a keyboards worth of space.
Do you have a smiley face santa antenna ball? (well actually you might...) The way I figure it, if you keep everything on your desk you will eventually find it. Easier than telling the family to put stuff away, just "put it on the desk"
Oh and I have a 1900 brass National Cash Register. Any takers?

the only reason i have SPACE for a keyboard is because it slides out from beneath the desk....lol. my desk look kind of similar to "Overcooked" - minus the two upper shelves. and mine appeas to be wider. the printer sits on one of the side shelves, and the tower on the other.

i forgot my galileo thermometer. i just noticed that over behind the tower....lol

dont think i need a cash register- but now i know where to loko if i do! lol

 

Trust me, it doesn't always look like this. I'm one of those crazy people who can't get any work done unless I clean everything first. I make messes much more impressive than any "clean" days.

And 6 months w/o a job will transform a person's home office. I lived in this room the entire time.

Saw a desk very similar to the one that spaz has at Office Max this week dantekgeek, about $100, son wants it. If it is the same it is an awesome desk.
Saw an excellent armoire type, the entire bottom swings open and to the side and when closed looks like a cupboard with cupboards underneath. Very cool.

 

I really like the LOOK of the armoir type ones, but for us, it would be so impractical, we couldnt have one. ONE of us is ALWAYS on....i really want a second computer, then we can stop fighting over it! loli think thats why i missed the "most user" thing earlier- i was probably laying on the couch watching a movie- hubby was online! lol

 

The desk is actually about 10 years old. I bought it at a store called Whole Earth Access, which is now all closed up.. /cry.

The keyboard drawer, tho, is completely rebuilt. It was a teeny little thing, so I fixed it in place and made it about 2X the size so I could put the mouse on it and have plenty of room. I often have another pc sitting up on the desk in pieces, so the extra space is pretty important. Then putting together those cabinets let me put the printer up out of the way and I put up that shelf above the server monitor to get the 2nd keyboard off the desk. There is another pc to the left of the others, but I cut the left half of the cabinets out of the pic.

 

thats one of the things i like about my desk- thwey keyboard "tray" is the same length as the desk, so the mouse is there, , and it could probably accomodate another keyboard if it was needed...ours came from staples- i think - some place like that.

Hey Flip... ouch! My back hurts just looking at your chair. I suppose it's not an issue for someone who doesn't sit for hours at a time. When I'm working, gaming or doing graphics I forget to move for hours. I'd be crippled if I used a regular chair.

 

Someone buy me a camera so I can participate in this thread?

 

You might check Ebay... I found a Canon A60 there for DIRT a couple weeks ago. I've wanted a digital cam for so long... My neighbors think I'm crazy cuz I keep shooting pics of my car to post on the VW forum I frequent.

 

your neighbors dont think your half as crazy as the dog does Ebay would require me to have money.. that would negate me asking "somebody else" to buy it.

 

I have a webcam Earthlink sent me when I used to subscribe to them that I'll send ya. You can take pics with that.

 

<baffle> wait.. why does the dog think I'm crazy? Actually I imagine all dogs in San Francisco think their masters are crazy.. I know I would if someone followed me around picking up my poop.

I have that same exact desk.I hate it I stuck it in the bedroom and put a tv on it and bought a nice big desk.

 

i've sat in that chair for 12+ hours straight, its really not as uncomfortable as it looks.

Since my computer equipment and my household stuff tend to merge in every room, it would be neigh impossible to take a pic of it all without posting an entire album.

Sitting in front of a pair of server towers and the 'ol 17" L.C.D. screen. Another 17" monitor, printers/laser copiers to the right and left Plasma tubes, cable arrays and glowing thingies hanging off just about everywhere. You get the general idea.

Oh yeah all the DVD and satellite T.V. jazz behind me and in nearly every room also.

 

I need to go buy a real digital camera instead of those cheap ones at Wal-Mart that don't take pictures unless you are outside in the sunlight.

 

Sorry the pictures are so crappy, all I have is a cheapo webcam. This is my desk for the moment, until I get my desktop built and get a new desk.

 

Oh, I am crazy... I just don't have a dog.

Not fancy, but roomy. Shot this last winter while putting together the puter for the Lemon family. Looks the same less the second one.

 

not finished with it yet. I'm gonna paint it black and cover the actual desk top with black leather.

Neo, look in the other thread, started by Dande, ("Post your desktop", scroll down the topics page a bit) Spaz has his wallpaper there and tells what it is.

 

I read through it, didn't see anything that said what it was. All it said was that it was a modified version of one he downloaded.

 

I think I posted a link to the original image. I modified this one, but I can try to find the original for you... Or I can attach it here, if you just want do save it from my webserver.
