    Thanks, BeerMonkey... Like I said, there's nothing like a few months off work to do wonders for your home office. I practically lived at this desk for 6 months.

    I agree, that is amazing, your desk itself is very nice. Mines like a glass desk. Its pretty cool, but nothing like this. I have a question though. Why have I been seeing two computers a desk? like you have setup here? what are the benefits of that? like can't you put both things on one computer.

    Well, I can't speak for everyone, but one of mine is my webserver/SQL Server and I leave it on 24/7. It is important for me to have that as a separate machine, even though you are right, everything COULD be on one machine.

    ::edit I have a 3rd box to the left of the other two which is my "experimental" box.. but it's in between "experiements right now..hehe ::

    I took several digital pix of my computer area to post. Upon inspection of the pix I have to agree with my wife. I REALLY need to clean it up, bad. She threatened me with my very existence if I posted the pix. So............I'll get back to ya'. :) :p :D :)

    My wife was serious. I do not know what her problem is....I clearly remember cleaning it up once in 1997, in June I think.....or was it '96? mmmmmmmm.............

    This was my old "Twin Towers" setup just after I moved house. They are now split up into separate rooms.


    The pic. was a monstrosity of geek junk lovingly built up. (There is a bed under there somewhere, believe it or not!:eek:

    Sadly, that is just about how mine looked AFTER I cleaned it up in '97...or 96. I've been trying to learn how to build a computer so I've been buying them from yard sales, thrift stores, etc . and taking them apart, putting them back together, spreading the crap around. I'm almost got enough saved back to buy the components to build the one I want. Is it just me, or does everybody have a list of stuff for a new box that gets longer...and longer...and longer? At any rate, I definitely know what is on schedule for this Saturday. I got my "orders from headquarters" when she saw me resizing the pix to post. :D

    Spaz, the desk top looks nice and all, but how come i see 2 comp, 1 mouse and 1 keyboard?

    Well, the keyboard for the server is on that shelf, above the far monitor, and if you look under the far monitor, the mouse is there on the desk. I have a KVM bolted under the desk on the left side, but it's for the server and the other pc that is in pieces at the moment.

    I liked the screensavers that came with windows 98. My grandchildren like to watch the fish swim in the aquarium or the astronauts floating in space. Is there a web site where I can download them. Have the original CD for 98 but am running XP now.

    hmm those didnt' come with mine! lol

    :: you can put the windows 98 cd in and when the menu comes up click on Browse Cd Contents. Then just look for the screensavers and copy and paste them. This is how i got my copy of Qbasic.

    PS-if you find them post them somewhere, i wanna download them! They sound awesome. I would set my screen saver to go on after 1 minute just so i can watch the fishes.

    Just gave my desktop a post-Christmas make-over. All the old beige is gone. "Before" shot is on page 2 of this thread. Puter itself doesn't show much in this, but same Lian-Li case, but the drives are now black. Now, if I can only get my ISP to swap my DSL modem for a black one.... :D

    This thread turned out to be more useful than you expected huh? lol.

    I'd do the same if I had time to take a pic of my desk, but here is a visual, picture how Neo's desk looked in the original Matrix, multiply the mess with 10 and deduct 10 floppies and 3 CDs and add a bit more sunlight...that is my desk! lol :p ;)

    Lev, I have selective vision, I see what I wanna see when I wanna see it. Off the record you were not the only geek with MG on their screen at the time they took the pic! After all it makes sense, you read this thread, you scan your messy room to spot your digi cam because you wanna take a pic then post it on here. I'd be surprised to see someone's desk top pic with www.ratemyrack.com on their monitor.... :p

    It's a tail off a hat I bought for winter. It's attatched to a trip wire that runs through my monitors and amps to a blank shotgun cartridge. Like you do... ;)
