    I also hate showing desktop icons....

    If you right click on your desktop, a window pops-up .. go to " arrange ICONS BY " then scroll down and uncheck " show desktop icons" I also have XP home...

    Hope it works for you...:)

    That removed that ugly Recycle Bin icon; and using ObjectDock everything's perfect!

    There is also a Windows power tool called TweakUI that you can remove various system desktop items with it. It's a pretty handy thing to have anyway.

    I kind of like the TweaksUI rather than removing all and some other approaches. With TweaksUI I can still DL stuff to the desktop and be able to see it and work with it. removing all icons I can't.

    the hard to remove stuff like recycle bin and others I can remove with Tweaks, and the shortcuts I just delete

    Not to digress from the thread topic too much, but I don't know how familiar you are with Giger's work, but put it this way - if you think you're a bit 'dark' at times, take a look at this U-Tube clip of Giger's stuff. This guy's definitely got major 'issues', eh. :D He did the original art and concept for the ‘Alien’, as in the movie.

    Yeah, Gigers stuff is pretty nice. When I first saw his stuff I was amazed because his artistic style was so much like mine. I didn't even think anyone could draw the kind of "evil" things I draw, it was nice to see that I wasn't alone. I should really learn how to use a set of airbrushes or gimp so my art isn't just limited to pen and paper.

    Thats neat Kes, I have a granddaughter who was into fairies, I probably put a stop to that sending her them for every holiday, birthday. Think she's into hockey now. What a change huh?
