ok...i've got the pic to work (i used the config of the 2003 version...so i cheated a little) and i fig how to link static images to functions...now to test...

 

I use the add Image function. Not at home to tell you where its at though.

Then you can make a text box and enable meter linkage. Then link the text box to an application.

Then remove all text. You now have an invisible overlay to drop over the icon or picture of your choice.

This allows it to function like a shortcut

 

ok...thats what i did (i rtfm...lol) i've got a shutdown, logoff, and restart icon set. i then took the commands from my current icons that came with tweakxp, put a blank text meter on top of each of them, linked the commands to the blank text meter, but they don't work.

 

Ive found some linking functions don't work. For example, if the shortcut refers to a nonstandard exe (Itried to link sysdm.cpl), it won't work, for me anyway.

 

Look through samurize.com.

Seems to me there might be some scripts needed to restart and such.

 

ok. yeah, my script for the shutdown is "C:\Program Files\Tweak-XP Pro 3\command.exe" -shutdown and i think the -shutdown is throwing it off. i'll try to look for another way around it.

Mine is slow on loading too, I think its the external ip info.

 

well, i went back and changed the refresh time for my cpu graph, and everything started working.

i was thinking about adding the qstat game server script, but i think that may be a little much.

 

here's where i'm at right now...i think i'll see how this goes before i add/change anything

 

Is samurize a hard program to learn how to use? It seems like it can be used to make great things and stuff for the desktop but when I downloaded it, it seemed very advanced and confusing. Just lookin' for some advice here.

 

its not too bad. my advice? use a pre-made config, and edit it till you learn what you can/can't do. read the readme files.

 

i love this program! i just replaced my taskbar clock with a winamp spectrum vis.

Nope, its a samurize plugin called SimpleCalendar.

I'm resurrecting this one purely because after the reinstall, I can save images as .jpgs again. Besides, I think this one is just neat. A good friend took it while flying a small airplane over Biloxi, MS.

Glen, it looks to me like you have some junk in there lol
e.g. (the "new text documentx2, The new word document, and the new folder) Are those like shortcuts to actually make a text document or are they on there for no reason?

KDE is a Linux Desktop, it comes standard with most distro's of Linux. The two major desktops are KDe and Gnome, theres also fluxbox, the window manager and s bunch of others.

The sys info and weather are a program for KDE called SuperKaramba, you may know karamba from Mac's.


SuSE 9.1 is a Linux Distro by suse.com
