    Greetings, Majorgeeks!
Recently I downloaded Granola from mg's and installed it on my Acer laptop. I decided to uninstall it, and following reboot, my Acer PM program will not start. I'm not entirely sure I need the Acer program either. If I must restart it, how would I do that? Must I? If I need either program, is there a power manager which uses less processor speed safe to use?
Acer TM4500li, xp pro. Anything else you need to know? Thanks in advance. I've never had any problems with downloads from Majorgeeks & you folks have a great forum. I don't shop for freeware anywhere else!

    Hi

What did you find wrong with Granola? only curious thats all.

I would be tempted to re-install the ACER Power Management software application again and its HERE.

However I never use it on my ACER Laptop, perfer to use the inbuilt power management of Windows although I do have Windows 7 on that laptop and ist PM is better than XPs.

    Dear Halo,

Thanks for the link and quick response. Halo, I don't know where you are, but it's saturday here, so a response in 1+ hours tells me one important thing: I am not alone. I LOVE MAJORGEEKS!
Granola downloaded, installed correctly, and uninstalled gently, which is the behavior I anticipate and rely upon when I download from Majorgeeks. The uninstall didn't turn my original power manager back on (it didn't promise to, I might add), which is why I started this thread.
On the other hand, I'm glad it did because I've simply been alerted to another important function which I have managed to ignore as long as possible. If I might ask:
-Is there software to meter the power consumption monitored by the "power manager?"

Halo, this is fantastic service! Thank you very much. Have a great weekend.

Acer download has done something else-

    Dear Majorgeeks, Halo, et al,
Thanks for the response. Although I haven't yet figured out how best to monitor my power management, I downloaded the acer power manager from the link you provided. Upon igniting the xp pro installer, the browse button (in add new programs) freezes (for lack of better term) and the acer power manager screen appears. Then nothing happens. I can simply close both applications seemingly seamlessly. However, the function is locked up and nothing else can be installed (through the control panel). It is possible to add new programs by simply right clicking on Open (file mgr.), so I'm hopeful there's a simple answer. No panic here, and I appreciate your help. I try out a lot of your free programs, and have had few glitches, none of which were more than hardware brand issues.
Also, if Halo reads this, I'd like to add that I'm glad you have an Acer laptop. I thought maybe I was the only one! I've had no problems with mine. I never see it mentioned in forums, which is I guess a good thing. Anyway, thanks very much for your time, as always!

    Hi Hi Hello

First off sorry I missed your reply, was not on the PC for a few days at that time period you posted and forgot to review all posts I have made (taken me days) but glad you reposted as we can continue again.

Weird that the ACER application locks up as its the one for your model Laptop, I would uninstall if you have not already, and get your PC back to stable.

Yeah I actually love ACER laptops and have two of them, bought my neices one also a few years back and if a 6 and 9yr old cannot kill it and Vista then no-one can, I find they are for me very well built to a good spec per price.

I personally dont use the power management as I mentioned but us e the inbuilt windows one but it doesnt should you any graphical readouts if thats what you are after?

Maybe try this one HERE its a colaboration between Microsoft and Edison.

Acer power mgr. is all better, thanks Halo

Dear Halo, MDA (my dumb ***) I didn't even realize the acer power manager had installed itself. Everything is fine and functioning following uninstall. I'm going to study up on this function a bit as I'm batting in the dark. Thanks for your help, as always. And thanks for the links.

One question: Is xp pro managing my power redundantly while Acer is on?

No rush. I've been in and out myself. Just wish I was putting it in and not putting it out!
