When I tried installing my new power supply the motherboard recognizes it but the computer is unable to turn on. I switched from a 430 watt to a 530 watt. I am not sure why this is the case. When I put my old power supply back in, it work fine. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Do you have all the connections plugged in correctly? Are you just booting up the motherboard with no other devices connected (ie cd, hard drive).

I have all the devices connected to the power supply. The red LED light on my motherboard indicates that the power supply is connected to the motherboard. The green LED light which represents that the computer is turned on only flashes when I push the power button but immediatly flashes off after 1 or 2 seconds.

Unplug all the drives, and any other onboard cards, except the video card if there is no onboard video. Then try to boot that way. Possible that the PS is bad, or not compatible with the motherboard. Also check the Power setting slider on the PS to make sure it is set for 120v, not 230v.
