Power supply monitor?

Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone came across a piece of software that watched PSU usage. Reason for my need is thus, I just bought a video card that requires a 300 watt psu and I have a 300 watt psu. I'd like to know if im "pushing" the unit. It would be nice to see a graphic display of Psu spikes if my new card sucks up to much power. Let me know if such software exists.

I don't know of software that will do that. I'm not saying that
their isn't any, either. I just want to point out that no graphics
card requires a 300 watt power supply.
A system with just a dvd drive and just that one card on it
would run fine on a 300 watt psu. But mainly it depends on the psu.
A good Antec 300 watter will do fine,
but an el-cheapo generic one will choke in no time.
You need to know what the real world measurements are
for that psu.
And yeah, I know, that's why you asked about the software in
the first place.
But if you could find the actual measurements of the psu,
it would go a long way to answering your question.

Do you have any pci cards that would draw a lot of power?
Like maybe a tv tuner? If not, then you should be ok.
Just a modem, or even sound card and you're ok.
My spare computer has a generic geforce card, a scsi
motherboard with a scsi hard drive and an ide drive,
a sound card and a modem, a cd burner and a floppy
all running on an Antec 350 watt psu. I used that computer
for a year and a half with no trouble before I put together
the one I'm using now.
