preserving foreign titles

CatT I can't follow the rules

i have a number of CDs in japanese, chinese, etc, and in the past i simply typed in romanized titles. i never actually realized that a ripper could auto-load titles from an online DB!.

but i've recently realized the latter, and i've also realized that XP can display the original titles just fine. e.g. for those which i've DLed (iTunes, torrents, w/e), the foreign script shows up just fine as file and folder names.

alas, for my OWN disks the ripper seems to mess them up. funny, since its source ("freedb.com") obviously has the originals.

by way of example, a ripped disk may look like:

    01 Love __________.flac
    02 ___________.flac
    03 _________ Baby.flac
    04 ____________.flac
    05 ________.flac
    06 ______ always on my mind.flac
    07 _____ Mr. _____.flac
    08 ________________.flac

etc etc. whereas if i had found it and DLed it, all those blanks would still have the original japanese/chinese/w/e.

is there some way to get these to "pass through"? or some other ripper better suited to the task?
