    Just replace hard and I have to press F1 to finish start up.

    Replace hard drive and loaded Win7 and now I have to press the "F1" key to finish the the booting process.

    That sounds like my computer if I have the "C" (internal) drive disconnected to exclusively boot to the "E" (modular/media bay) drive. For some reason, my Dell Precision M70 laptop requires the "C" drive to be connected even if there's no OS on it for me to exclusively boot to the "E" drive. Otherwise, I have to press F1 to continue. I have Vista installed on my "C" drive and XP installed on my "E" drive. I've also got a "G" (USB) drive with Win 8.1 installed on it and use EasyBCD to manage booting to any of the three drives.
