    Hi guys,

For the last few days I've had an ad/malware problem that I haven't been able to solve. It does either one of 2 things -- Either place a banner ad at the top of a webpage, even if that site doesn't have banner ads ie. YouTube. Or I can be reading a page full of text and a new page will load, displaying an advert. In this situation the header of the new page will be "Ad served by Primawega".

Before finding the Malware guide on this site I ran: Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, MalwareBytes, Avast AntiVirus, CCleaner and lastly Spyware Cease. I've also been through my Add/Remove Programs list and removed anything I didn't need.

I've followed the MajorGeeks Win7 guide in the sticky. The following things are what happened after I ran each software:

SUPERantispyware found 2 adware and successfully removed them.

MalwareBytes found 2 spyware which actually originated from Spyware Cease (Rogue.SpywareCease).

ComboFix had a problem with SUPERantispyware and my DVD Emulator (Daemon Tools) but continued anyway and deleted a couple of things.

    RootRepeal gave me the error:
"FOPS - DeviceIoControl Error! Error Code = 0x0000024
    Extended info (0x000000dc)"
It still loaded so I scanned and got this error:
"Could not initiate driver! Please contact the Author!"
    Pressing OK then gives:
"Could not scan drive C: (Error 0x0000024)"
Then it closes down, so was not able to run this one.

    Here are my logs.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Kestrel,

I appreciate the time you spent looking at my logs. I discovered a solution while I was waiting --- Uninstall and reinstall Firefox. It hasn't returned since I did this.

    Thanks again.
