Print Default Settings

OS= Win ME, Browser= Mozilla Firefox / IE, Printer= HP 722C. Since my laser printer died I have been using my inkjet, which is much slower in the "Normal" print quality mode. Each time I print a document I must click on: Properties, Econofast, and Print In Gray Scale. My question is; Is there a way to change the defaults to the ones I prefer? Also I notice when printing from the IE broser, if I set the print conditions I prefer, the remain in effect during all print sessions at that site. With Firefox I must reset each time I print.
