Printer/driver problems

It all began with the installation/uninstalling lexmark x2650 all-in-one. I had installed this printer on this computer before with no problems. I had uninstalled also before with no problems because I was not using it. This time it seems as though it did not install properly, fustrataed, I tried installing/uninstalling way too many times of which I have found stored in my computer files. I am not very knowledgeable with computers but I am a quick learner and have learned a lot through trials and errors. Getting to the point- While trying to uninstall this printer from the add/remove it does nothing but freezes up, unable to close the window. When uninstalling from the list of Lexmark tools, from what the window displays a bar displaying % does not show progress besides that nothing takes that long to uninstall. That also does not close properly. I have checked spool services and that is STARTED ON AUTOMATIC I have also checked a few other services that relate. However I did come across a lxdn.com service that I believe is related to lexmark. It does not show description but has the option of started / auto or manual. I don't know if I had screwed this up by trying installing it more than a few times. I don't know what to do at this point. Any suggestions. I would greatly appreciate it. Like I said I am not that knowledgeable as I should be with the computer language.

Did you try uninstalling in safe mode? What OS are you using. This will determine the procedure for uninstalling the lexmark printer.

 

I just wanted to say thank you and all Major Geeks as well. Fixing this problem was like fixing my car. Soo many steps to check (process of elimination), especially being unfamiliar with the language, (terminology), to finally get to the problem.

I was able to successfully uninstall my printer. Now I'm not sure if I should install again. Just don't want any complications today. Thats what you get with a used, built, old, computer.

Your Welcome. So, the safe mode uninstall did work for you? Lexmark Printers adds another dependency in the spooler service and sometimes the uninstall does not go very smoothly.
