I recently installed a third party software containing an additional installation for novaPDF printer. However, I cannot access the printer through the third party software, and it does not show in the devices and printers section of my Windows 7 OS. Can this be because of something awry in my registry?: :confused

    Ask.

Since you made no mention of the third party software that bundled this with it, perhaps you need to contact that company.

Not too sure quite what you were expecting of NovaPDF but it won't ever appear in Devices and Printers as its purpose is simply to create PDF files from other file types. I've never used a program of this type but I would think it possible that it will appear in the context menu of other document files. Try right clicking a document file from your word processor - any new options there?

I use another PDF creator called DoroPDF, and it appears in my Device and Printer list. However, you may be right that novaPDF will not appear there.
I am currently waiting for the support team from the third party software to contact them (novaPDF) to see what they say. Evidently I am the first to have this problem...Lucky me! Thanks for your thoughts!

What "third party software containing an additional installation for novaPDF printer" did you install? NovaPDF is a so-called PDF Printer Driver and if installed correctly, will show in Devices and Printers.

novaPDF is included in a program called DONATION by Software4Nonprofits, and is installed during its installation. I have been using this program for the better part of 4 years without incident. Recently, however, something has changed (could be through the use of ErrorEnd or CCleaner software...?)
Now when I reinstall DONATION it goes through the novaPDF installation, but when I attempt to save a PDF file it tells me that there is no printer with that name, and it does not show up in my W7 devices and printers.

Is it supposed to be a "Lite" version of novaPDF? If so, maybe try installing: |MG| novaPDF Lite.
Be sure to read the "Limitations:" section first.

The novaPDF program is an integral part of DONATION, and as such installs on its own with that program. Thanks for your thoughts.

Then the problem is with DONATION. Contact them. There are numerous PDF printer drivers that will print from any program that has a print feature.

I am aware of other PDF printers, and I use DoroPDF all the time. However there are some features in DONATION that you cannot use anything other than novaPDF. I have contacted DONATION support, and they are conferring with novaPDF about a solution. I just thought there might be someone out there that knows the solution already. Thanks again.

I've never used NovaPDF. I use DoPDF and it does appear as a printer in Devices and Printers in our Windows 7 computers. (this is for Earthling who doesn't use this program).
I'm just not sure if NovaPDF is supposed to appear in Devices and Printers or Not.

Thanks plodr. I have little use for PDFs and should have stayed away from this topic :-o

No problem earthling, we are all here to learn!

My husband has to send things to the printer for his 3 times a year newsletter. He does them in WordPerfect because it is easier for him to work in than Word. Of course, everyone wants a doc or docx file but the printer happily accepts pdf so that why I had to install a phantom printer on several computers.

I test the program, learn how it works then teach him what he needs to do. If it doesn't work well or is too complicated, i move to a different program.
