I am trying to figure out how to hook up a printer so that 2 computers can use it at the same time, the printer is a HP Photosmart 7760.

If both computers are on the same network, you can connect the printer to one of the computers, and then share it. Then the 2nd computer can connect to the printer over the network. The only downside to this solution is that the computer that the printer is physically connected to has to be on in order for the 2nd computer to print anything.

Otherwise, you can buy a print server and the printer can be used by both computers at the same time without needing the other computer to be on. For that, you'd need something like this:

You can also hard wire the printer using a USB multi port adapter or a Y cable. I have three computers hard wired into my HP no issues what soever.
