printer problem

    My sister is having a problem with her HP printer, it seems like the new year is really hitting us with the tech problems lol.

    Her problem is that it keeps saying there is a problem or error with her Ink cartridges. It will then take a long time to start printing, and the HP interface still says there is an error/problem with the cartridge.

    I just don't know what the problem could be or how to fix such a thing. Any ideas?

    HI

    Indeed the printer model will help us, as well as what are the exact error messages she is getting?

    Also have you tried uninstalling the printer driver and re-installing it, as well as take the ink cartridge out and re-install it, in case its just a bad connection. (Windows version would help also)

    Is the ink an official cartridge or a non-bran or a refill?

    She has a Photosmart C4680 all in one printer. We think it may be a cartridge connection problem, we use HP cartridges, and the interface says "Ink cartridge problem" I don't think I can classify it as a true Error message. That is why we think it is a connection issue.

    Hi

    Take out the cartridge and see if you can clean the metallic connection parts of the printer where the cartridge goes as well as the cartridge, may just be some old ink on it.

    If you have a new cartridge try that also, but do not touch the metallic strips as finger grease can stop electric conductivity at times.

    Hi,

    That has always been a defective cartridge here. Two or three have failed in the last 2-3 years. One even worked OK for several weeks before throwing the error.
