printer, scanner & camera disappeared

Hello everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me here. The other day I went to upload some pics from my camera to the computer and it kept saying "no camera found". Next i thought I would access it from the "my computer" icon. Only it wont open..when you click on it, it just shows the flashlight going across a folder and searching. Then I went to print something and it says "no printer found" and same with scanner.
Now I have not uploaded anything new. I have not changed anything. So I start searching on the net, found some computer sites and this is what I have done so far.
Ran Mcafee Virus Scan twice in safe mode (with system restore off) no virus found.
Ran Adaware 6..only found a couple things and they were removed.
Today downloaded and ran SpyBOt which got rid of 35 different things.

I have no idea if I have a virus, trojan etc..but none of my hardware works, yet they do show up in device manager and states they are working properly.
Any advice would be appreciated.

P.s. I did find the link for someones post "Read Me First Before Asking For Support" and printed it (from work pc) so that I have it. I just wanted to run by the symptoms I am having..especially not being able to open the My Computer tab in normal mode. It does open in safe mode.

I am running windows xp, mcafee virus scan online, mcafee firewall
