Printer/Scanner problem

Hi - Wondered if someone could possibly help me with a problem that's driving me nuts.

I have a HP Scanjet 3500c and Deskjet 3822 printer.

Normal (non-scanner related) printing is fine.

Everything was OK until recently. No changes have been made.

It has now taken to printing everything in RED, regardless of text/image colour, when the 'copy' button is pressed on the scanner.
Scanned documents come up fine on the screen BUT are printed in shades of RED. This also happens if the scans are saved as tifs or jpegs then printed. However, the documents print fine if they are saved as a word doc and then printed.
Powered down/up; re-connected everything; checked settings (appear OK); replaced ink cartridges; still no good.

If anyone has any suggestions what I should do next or be looking at it would be very much appreciated!

when was the last time you updated the scanjets drivers? i would uninstall your current drivers, locate the latest scanjet drivers at www.hp.com then install those

 

Thanks - I haven't updated these. I will get on to that and let you know.

 

Have finally done this now but unfortunately it hasn't worked.
Problem remains as was.

Stuck again.

 

Turns out that both the colour ink cartridge and its replacement had identical faults!

Yet another one bought - sorted.
