First I want to applogize if I posted this in the wrong forum, but I'm at my wits end! My mom is running Windows 7 and I installed and hooked up (wireless) her HP8600 printer in October and it worked fine. Since around November 29 programs hangs when you go to print a job. 'Printers and Devices' also hangs, displaying the green loading bar at the top, but never loads. I looked up the problem online and found a suggestion about starting and enabling 'Bluetooth Support Service', which I did and it worked for about a day. Looked online again and followed the recommendation to start in Safe Mode then in Regular Mode, which worked for about another day. I tried the safe mode/normal mode trick again, but it didn't work. Uninstalled Dymo label printer, but can't remove device from 'Devices and Printers'. I looked up her most recently installed Windows update (KB2762895), which was installed around the time all of this started, and found that it caused different application errors for some people, so I unstalled that, didn't work. Tried the hotfix KB2486635 after turning off 'Bluetooth Support Service', didn't work. Uninstalled the Hotfix and reinstalled the Update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and turned Bluetooth back on. Also read to check enable bidirectional support, but that option doesn't always show up. I check it when it does, but it doesn't stay checked. The Hp8600 printer is the only one that shows up in safe mode and it has the yelow triangle on it. The only way to view the 'Printers and Devices' is to restart the 'Print Spooler' and refresh 'Printers and Devices'. It's like the refresh only works for a few seconds and it doesn't say that it's actually 'stopped' in services. When you hit it once it shows Devices, hit it twice and it shows the HP printer with the yellow trianle, when you hit it the third time, it will show all printers, with the HP as default with a green check. I have run the Microsoft FixIt tool which says it can't fix it. Also, in order to reinstall the printer I had to keep hitting restart on the 'Print Spooler' because it would hang every couple of seconds. It is a wireless printer and it shows up in the network on the other computers. So currently the print spooler and bluetooth are started and automatic, KB2762895 is installed, HP driver is up to date, and all updates are current. This is her business computer and reinstalling Windows is really not much of an option. I would appreciate any help and suggestions. Thanks in advance
