Hehehe......nope if you use Samsung hardware. My Samsung smart TV can't change channels with its Samsung remote using voice control unless it has an active internet connection. Of course you can use up and down channel one station at a time but as there aren't any number buttons to go straight to a channel so you have to use voice commands and the voice function doesn't work without internet.....it just comes up oops something went wrong or I can't do that........that is why I now use a Harmony remote and select the channels by the numbered buttons and only give it internet access if I want to do something online like checking the TV guide or watch something on You Tube
