problem compaq presario 2100 laptop

Description Of Problem:
Hi, I purchased this as used laptop. when I got it it had a lot of problems.
There was numerous number of viruses and I cleaned it. The comoputer worked but proopely.
I did not try to restore but I erased hdd after it
started making beeping noise when I would boot it. Then it seemed that keybord stopped
responding, it would be typing only llllllllllllll. Because of that I ordered new keyboard
and installed it but i have the same problem. I checked the device manager and tested
both keyboards and they seamed to be working... what to do ?????

I dont have recovery cd from hp

 

The beeping you hear is most likely a POST(power on self test) code.

Depending upon the manufacturer(bios,motherboard) the codes mean different thing--from improperly seated card(mem,hd,etc)--to a failing motherboard,HD,graphics card.

Find your type of BIOS and google it you should get a list of the meanings for your particular model.
