Problem Downloading Mgtools.exe

Neither Edge Chromium nor Chrome will download MGtools.exe, and Edge says "MGtools.exe can't be downloaded securely".

Maybe somebody (maliciously?) reported the file path (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/files/MGtools.exe) to Microsoft at Report a website?

But obviously, since I'm trying to download it, I suspect I may have been infected with malware. So, I guess it's more probable that malware may be blocking the download. Maybe I should run all the diagnostic apps that are supposed to precede MGtools, and then send in those logs before trying to download MGtools?

Any help with resolving this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Thanks for that. I toggled off Microsoft Defender SmartScreen, and then I could download it. And yes, then I toggled it back on. Thanks again.
