Hey everyone i've got a bit of an issue with my laptop...
The DVD Drive doesn't seem to read my Windows XP CD or any Compact Disc at all and i can't afford to buy a new drive for it and i really need to get a fresh install of Windows XP because im having many errors with the current installation of WIndows XP... I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how i could install windows XP on my laptop... I've got an external CD drive which works perfectly but i can't boot from my external drive because my bios doesn't support it... I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what i could possibly do? I was wondering if its possible to install MS DOS onto my system right now and get onto it to format my Drive and install 98 then upgrade to XP? If anyone has an ideas please help!
    Thanks:wave

Take a look at this thread: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=149869 This is pretty much the same problem you're having, with a "how-to" install Windows without a CD/DVD drive....
...and 'bumping' every hour or two isn't really a good idea ;) (and it's against forum rules).
