   I have Win2k. I am trying to install Windows Media Encoder 9. It gave me an error saying that the file, "wmex.dll", failed to register. Please advise.

   Sometimes depending on security software you have installed its possible that a .dll may not be able to register, so have you turned off all your AntiVirus, Firewall, AntiSpyware applications and tried again to install?
   
   Do you also have DirectX 9.0 installed as its required to allow WMP encoder 9 to install Windows Media Encoder 9 Series System Requirements
