hey there all you munchkins...I have a problem with networking 2 computers together....1 computer(host) is win xp prosp3...this computer has 1 integrated nic and one add on nic...the cable from the router goes into this computer.
I have a cable running from the add on nic to the integrated nic on computer 2 (client)whatever os I am using xpsp3, win7sp1, and I've tried win 8. I have internet connection sharing enabled on the host computer which hooks up fine but the other computer (client) shows connected and will go to google but that's as far as she wants to go. everything seems fine but I can't ping anyone from the client computer. If you need anymore info just let me know

With a router already working, just take an ethernet cable from the router to the second computer and disable ICS on the first computer.
(ICS is useful if you have no separate router. The host computer acts a router in that case.)
