   I bought a Buffalo juststore desktop 1Tb, and lately when i've started up my computer it would just get jammed on the motherboard loading screen, or whatever u call it, and it won't move until i disconnect the cable from the external HD and restart, and put the cable back in after it has gone through that screen.

   Always check drivers first, in this case your motherboard drivers. Since you negelected to give specs, will need motherboard brand and model to assist you in finding your drivers.
