problem wite wv format

can any one shine a light in this rolleyes
im having trouble downloading wv fomat on my computer.
i have just recently installed real player because i was having problems with windows media player 10 - a codec related problem saying it couldnt download
any mpegs
and real player seems to have sorted that out but i still cannt get the wv format
i got both firefox and ie hence the windows player 10
and every time i try to download it my firefox crashes
