Problem with curser

    I have two computers.The Dell/Pavillion is the one I'm having a problem with.I am unable to click my curser so that I can type in a search in the search bar on my home page.You know that little staight line that blinks, isn't there.My homepage is AOL?This also happens on all the web pages I have in my favorites,I'm unable to login to a lot of sites that I need to go to on a daily basis.I have tried resetting Internet Explorer,Installed,and Uninstalled Firefox,and used System Restore and still nothing

    Sorry,It's an HP/pavillion w/the curser problem.

    No,Should I uninstall the one I'm using now?Then connect another one and use the software that came with it ?

    Go into Control panel, and select the mouse then select the pointers tab (I'm in windows 2000, it might be something different in XP). Is there a scheme listed? Scroll down to text select. It could be that you have some strange mouse pointer theme and for whatever weird reason, the text select (the straight line ) has been replaced by nothing so when you click in ox, you do not see the straight line.
