Problem with Firefox......

I use firefox for default browser. Lately encountered a prob. FF takes long time to open and then opens with white page. If I close the browser and then reopen it opens with proper page. but after a few times of opening, no longer opens at all. Looks like it tries to open then quits. I have to reboot to get it to work again. I uninstalled and reinstalled and same prob. Also my Yahoo toolbar disappeared and even tho I have tried to reinstalled the toolbar no luck. I am using XP home on a 4600 Dell. IE is working fine but I much prefer FF. Please point me in the right direction to resolve this. I searced for prev threads that had the same prob but unable to resolve. Thanx

What version of FF are you using; and what solutions have you tried so far?

 

when you uninstalled FF, did you delete the /program files/mozilla firefox folder and your profile folder? (make backup of your bookmarks.html file FIRST. )

 

Thanks guys for the feedback not feeling well today and just now got online. I Just uninstalled FF and reinstalled didn't delete that folder will try to find it. I'm not to swift sometimes. I Have the bookmarks in file on desktop will that work and then when get FF doing transfer them back?

Well guess I didn't get everything. uninstalled again and reinstalled and still have bookmarks so didn't do something right. Right?

Shadow. followed your inst best I could and purged the registry as noted. reinstalled and everything seems to be a go. Nice to have my FF and Yahoo toolbar back. Will monitor for a few days and see. Thanks a jillion.
