Problem with Internet Explorer

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer 8. Every so often while im using Internet Explorer this error message pops up:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\ Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.



I have tried following the steps to similar problems on this website but the first thing they tell you to do is follow the instructions under "basic computer maitenance everyone should do." under that, the first thing to do is run the 'CCleaner' tool, and thats where the same exact error pops up and doesnt even let me do the first step!

Please help, this has been driving me crazy and all the solutions i have seen posted here, dont work because this error pops up before i can do anything.

 

Oh my gosh! you are amazing! I want to hug you, I have been trying to fix this problem for months! and your advice is the only one that helped! I tried the fix it button as you suggested, but the error message popped up before i could use it, but they had manual steps too, and it worked, YAY!
