    Sorry, if I'm a newbie regarding this and I have insufficient knowledge. I bought this (actually my mom did), so after buying I plugged the base subwoofer jock on the green hole at the back of the desktop computer, connected the 220v base subwoofer plug to the avr, then plugged the 2 small speaker jacks on the back of the square base. (which has only 1 plug on the back) (sorry if I'm making wrong terms, I hope you understand) So its working and all,there is sound input but there is one problem. In the subwoofer's speaker there is sound output, but only one of the 2 small speakers has sound. So all in all 2 out of 3 speakers work. I tried removing the 2 small speakers and replaced them with a headset. There is still sound in the subwoofer's speaker, but in my headset also one speaker only works,the left side. the right side doesn't work.(My headset was working both sides on psp's, a pc, and a ipod) So my question is this. Is that normal for the speaker and subwoofer? The supposed input on the other small speaker is replaced by the subwoofer? Is this right? I need help. Thank you very much for reading, and understanding my post. I hope I provided enough details and I hope my post doesn't confuse you. Thanks again!

    PS. I've also posted this in other sites, but no one's responding yet, so I decided to post in at least 3 sites.

    It is not normal. You should have sound from all three speakers. The subwoofer is mostly just bass sounds but both small speakers should work.

    Because it didn't work with either the speakers or the headphones I would think the unit is defective. The only think you could check is to make sure you have the 2speaker or headphone jack firmly in place.

    I can't tell from the picture but if there is a balance control make sure it is set in the middle position.

    Unfortunately I can't see the inputs and outputs on the 2.1ch computer multimedia speaker system. Could you please clarify what the Left Speaker, Right Speaker, and Subwoofer have coming in/out of them.

    Also I want to be sure I understand what you meant about the headset. Were you only getting sound coming from the Left headset when it was connected directly to your PC (ie bypassing the speaker system your mom bought), or when connected to the stereo system? If it's the latter, then what exactly was the headset connected to?

    When some male or female audio connectors are damaged or tarnished then they will struggle to make good contact. In that situation turning a connector or slowly pushing it in or out will make connection, and output sound as expected. To test for that I usually have a music/video file playing (something with non-stop sound for a minute or more), then work on one connector after another. Note that this isn't just a matter of plugging a connector in all the way - sometimes there's an internal poor connection, and other times the female connector is loose.

    To help explain how you have units connected I find it helpful to visit Google Images and to provide an image (a link to an image is better than embedding one!) for each connection, so there is no confusion. Eg:
    I have a 3.5mm male to male stereo jack plugged from my motherboard's green speaker output to my speaker audio input.

    It takes longer to do that, so feel free to only use that method for particularly confusing things to explain.

    @94dgrif
    when the headset is plugged to the sub, only one side is working.but when it's plugged directly to the pc, both speakers are working. I also tried the sub on a psp and a cellphone, and same results happen. Sub works but only one speaker works. I'm sure that this isn't a case of loose wiring since I've tried plugging the jack firmly..

    @sach2 and all,
    That's what others seem to tell me, that the amplifier is the problem and this needs to be replaced. But I have read this on the manual of the sub:
    "It is normal only one satellite is working when using single track audio source". What do you think this means? Does this something have to do with this problem? Thanks for your replies btw.

    This means if the music you are playing is recorded in Mono rather than Stereo. Mono hasn't been common in about 40 years. Your parents may remember Mono vinyl records but anything you are trying to listen is almost definitely stereo. [Unless it is a recording of a lecture of something you recorded on a mobile phone--even those would probably come out of both speakers]

    I think the problem is in the Jack where the speakers are connected. It may have a loose connection behind the connector. One other thing to try is playing with the volume control knob. I have had PC computer speakers where one channel/speaker cuts out at full volume but turning back the volume control knob just a bit allows it to make a connection.

    By testing on the PSP and cellphone you've eliminated the PC from the equation, and by testing with a headset you've eliminated the speakers. That limits the problem to being the jack where the speakers are connected (from your image), something inside the sub, or the subwoofers jack which is connected to my computer (from your image). In any case assuming the tests were all done correctly then the sub is definitely the cause.

    You should start by seeking a refund. If that isn't an option, you should try the following to try to fix it:
    1. Check there are no other switches or settings on the sub, and check the manual for troubleshooting 1 working speaker.
    2. Wiggle the jack where the speakers are connected while playing some stereo audio from your PC
    3. Wiggle the subwoofers jack which is connected to my computer while playing some stereo audio from your PC (It looks like this cord runs inside the sub rather than having a connector, so this may not work)
