problem with opening folders

I don't have a problem with actually opening my folders in "My Computer". They all open but only if I right click and select open. If I left click on a folder without right clicking first the search window comes up instead of it opening. When I right click the search option is on top and in bold font. The open or run option use to be on top (depending on the drive). I don't remember changing anything, but I probably did without knowing it. How do I change it back where the run or open option is on top and in bold format. Also if I try playing a cd or installing a program from my dvd rom or cd rw drive the same thing happens, I believe it is related to the problem I described above. Could someone please help me with this? This problem is very annoying and frustrating.
