problem with pc plz help

I have a AMD I'm not to pc savy. Was running Windows xp shut down pc and when turned back on a msg appeared need boot cd and what not . Bought a.Windows7 cd and when I put it in error code 5 appears . F8 only show boot drives no command prompt or dos prompt to be found anyway and any f1_9 what do I do to re format with new windows 7 plz help

 

If you select to boot from the CD drive does it try to select the CD drive at all? Does the CD drive light come on?

 

Yes light will come.on cd spins

 

Do you have another machine you can try booting from the CD on? You may have a bad or weak CD reader.

I was just looking at this and it seems you have an older machine that does not like the Win7 disc. The error 5 is saying it can't interpret the boot files on the disc.

Do you have a computer running Vista or Win8? And a blank CD or empty USB? The easiest solution I have found is to boot to a Vista disc and then swap out to the Win7 disc and run setup from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LTJEwIgnh0

Otherwise you could see if there is a bios update for that machine which may remedy the problem.
