    Hi!
Im having trouble with my computer, it is very slow and I cant remove certain programs from it, such as Yahoo Toolbar. I'm also having trouble with installing Norton Internet Security 200x. It seems it doesnt want to get past the opening window. I have downloaded every edition of it, and I know how to cheat and crack it, because I have had Norton before, but the subscription went out and I cant install another one. I really want to be able to install Norton, because it is in my mind the best comp. security. I have tried every other program you provide, but they are just free editions.
Everytime I scan with my Spyware program, PC Tools Spyware Doctor, it shows me about 60 somewhat infections, but it can never fix them. I do have the full version, so it should be able to fix them, but it cant. It's trojans and other spyware. This started about six months ago, and I had just got the full version of PC Tools Spyware Doctor.
I really hope you can help me fix my problems and recommend some good full versions of Firewalls, AntiVirus programs and Spyware Programs.

This is not a malware issue.

This is more than likely not a malware issue either.

Bad idea and will get you into trouble. If you are trying to install an illegal version now, you will not get any help trying to fix problems you are having with installation.

You will not see anyone here agreeing with this!!!

Yes and they work great and also have pay versions if you want one but based on what you are trying to do with NIS I guess you don't wish to buy a security program.

You need to speak to PC Tools about their problem removing infections that the program finds.

You have PC Tools Firewall installed aleady.

You also appear to have a wireless security program from McAfee running but it does not appear in you Uninstall Programs list. Is this McAfee Wireless Network Security program showing in Add/Remove Programs?

Your logs do not show any malware problems but you do need to do the below.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {0BF43445-2F28-4351-9252-17FE6E806AA0} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6

    Then reboot your PC.

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

Thank you for your help! To answer your questions, I do want to buy a Internet Security Software, but I just dont know which one. Hopefully you can recommend some to me. I uninstalled McAfee, but the Wireless Network security still linguired, but I managed to remove it with RegCleaner. Do you recommend having a antivirus, Spyware software and Firewall active on your computer at all times?

Not recommended! They will slow your PC down and have too much junk that you don't need. All IS packages are hogs and some (like Norton, McAfee, F-Secure and a few other commercial packages) are worse than others.

Are recommendations are in the sticky threads:

In your How To Protect yourself from malware it says that you should have the Windows XP SP2, im having trouble downloading it. I've done the things they say in the get ready for SP2, but it still doesnt seem to work. I have a Fujitsu Siemens comp. There are no specifications for it with SP2

I suggest that you post your questions about updating to SP2 in the Software Forum where it is more appropriate.
