    hey guys whats up
im having a lot of difficulty with my pc recently

i downloaded pc tools antivirus last week and tried to run a scan, it would scan to about 50 precent and then the pc would freeze, after i reboot it wouldnt start back, after a couple reboots i manged to uninstall pc tools and then the pc started to work as usual

i downloaded Avira Anti Vir 2 days ago, installd it and tried a scan,

this message keeps coming up and anytime i click quarantine, it just keeps popping up again

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/kamta/pictures/pictureoferror.jpg

ive downloaded and ran spybot search and destroy but that also freezes at around 90%, it finds a few viruses but i have to close it without being able to quarantine or delete))

now my pc is having trouble starting up, internet explorer is freezing, msn is freezing etc
i tried to uninstall AVG Anti-Spyware but it sticks halfway through.

im using a different computer to write this topic and also to download all the instructions in the malware removal thread,
what i want to know is, as i already know what i think the source of the virus is,
do i still follow these instructions to remove it?

(ive just downloaded combofix, avg, and mg tools and spybot search and destroy again onto my flashdrive)
i'd like to know if to follow the malware removal instructions as set out in the guide or if theres another route i should follow

thanks for your replies in advance

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    * Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

    * Now click the 'Done' button.
    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.
