Problem with this website.

I can't seem to find out how to edit a post. It says that I can edit them in my "posting rules", but the "edit" button that is talked about in the FAQ in not visible on any page I go to for my post. It is not on the general forum list page nor is it on the message display page. I wanted to add more information to my post, and can not figure out how to get it done.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this message, but I could not find any better location to place a message of this sort, and the "Contact Us" is fairly specific about NOT EMAILING the GEEKS.

Well, what do you know, I have an edit button on this post after I submitted it. I guess I can't get an edit button when I have moved on to another page and then come back.

 

You can only edit for a couple of minutes after posting

I believe you can only edit your most recent post but not if you've left the forum and come back. You have to edit it right after posting it.

 

after you post a reply there is an option to edit for an alotted amount of time

 

You are given 3 minutes to edit your post. Doesn't matter if you've left the forum...whatever...as long as it's within the allotted time frame.

Thanks to everyone. It appears that possibly 2 things were going on. 1 - I left the forum and came back again, thinking I could edit my post then - which is not possible. 2 - Even if I had not left the forum, there is a timelimit on how long you are allowed to edit the post, which I probably exceeded anyway. Thanks again.
