Problem with usb stick mounting

I cannot mount any usb stick!
I'm using ubuntu 11.04.
When I insert a usb stick into my laptop I can see it in the Disk Utility but it's not mounted.
When i press Mount Volume this error appears:

Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sda1 is already mounted on /
mount failed

Please if you can help me!
