Utorrent was running perfectly until a couple of days ago, and now it's totally jacked up. I tried uninstalling and re-installing, but it keeps the old settings somewhere (registry?). So I uninstalled again, ran CCleaner to clean the registry, reinstalled uTorrent (again), and still it hung on to the old settings; I think this is where my problems are coming from. uTorrent locks up when I try to do various things that worked fine only a few days ago: If I stop a torrent mid way and try to restart it, uT will either lock up, or start 'checking' the file and lock up during the 'check'. If I try to remove a torrent after it's done downloading, uT will lock up most of the time. When I exit uT, it doesn't shut down 100%; if I check the task manager, uTorrent is listed and if I try to end the process, I get the error that the process could not be terminated. Oh, another thing: the downloads will be nice and fast for a while, then I'll get a message at the bottom of the uT window "Disk Overload: 100%" and the speeds drop big time. This would happen occasionally before, but it would go away after a bit, and everything would be OK. I check on the overload message at the uTorrent site, and they say it's no big deal, wait for it to go away. Well, it doesn't go away anymore; or uT will lock up before it goes away, and when it locks up I cannot kill it thru the task manager, I have to restart the PC.... any ideas???

    Hi Dave,

Utorrents profile folder is in Application Data folder (on XP). Start>Run>type in %appdata% then delete the utorrent folder.

***You can save a copy of your active torrent files to a safe location by copying them from the folder before deleting and then clicking them to start after your reinstall.

***Also make a note of your forwarded port( and up/dwn speeds) so you can enter them when you reinstall.

    Hope this helps :)
