problem with video controller

I'm having problems with my video controller, tried to install driver..SiS UniVGA display driver... but system says it cannot detect the device and to check that it is configured properly!!!!. I am using an old tiny laptop.
Ive downloaded an evaluated copy of everest but dont know how to use it !!! any assistance would be grateful. Screen rolls when switching pages or programs.

 

The SiS drivers can be very tricky.... usually, there's a separate AGP driver (yes, even on laptops) that must be installed before the VGA driver. As stated by plodr, we really could use more info. If you can provide the make and model of the laptop (usually on a sticker on the bottom), plus the version of Windows you're using, it would be very helpful.

 

You can also try DiverMax (http://majorgeeks.com/DriverMax_d5260.html) to find the latest driver for your device.

Use the free version that allows up to two driver downloads per day.

 

Thanks for the responses... I have actualy managed to sort the issue out ... i got all the necessary software and drivers from the SiS website, which offered to scan my system and download upto date software and drivers that should be on my system...Fantastic!!!
just wish other manufacturers/makers of systems made life more easy like SiS have.
The laptop is a Tiny A535 with a SiS motherboard and a AMD4 processor got max ram of 604mb installed OS of XP Pro Sp3.
